ASP is supplier of technical support for the Agora Pavilion at the 64th Cannes Film Festival. Electrolux is one of the Filmfestivals’ official partners this year.

The Eye Catcher of this partnership is the Agora Structure, situated in the centre of the international village, just a stones throw away from the world famous ‘Tapis Rouge, the spot where the stars make their “mont de la marche.” The Agora came to be thanks to a unique collaboration between Electrolux and Absolute Blue, the event agency specialized in this type of prestigious projects. The Agora is a meeting place that was used by both Electrolux and the Cannes Filmfestival . The regular lunches for both parties were served there , as well as a number of special lunches for the jury of this years Filmfestival. Members of the jury were Jude Law, Uma Thurman and Robert de Niro. Besides the lunches a number of evening events were also organized, for example the opening and closing Dinner, each one for 650 guests, as well as a selection dinner and a party night.

To fulfill the technical needs of this enclosure, ASP supplied a flexible lighting structure, that didn’t interfere with the architecture of the pavilion. This was a very important issue, since the interior design was completely in the hands of Park, and Italian architects office. A truss structure in an organic form was used, carefully finished off with black truss sleeve. High level finishing was of utmost importance, as the truss structure was part of the architecture. A number of Led washlights were used in the structure, making sure that all the furniture was perfectly highlighted.

This basic set was complemented with a number of profiles with break-up gobo’s, to give the set some extra depth. The sound system consisted of a number of L'Acoustic 8XT loudspeakers, their compact and tidy appearance were perfect for background music. Besides the structure on the inside of the pavilion, the terrace and the façade were also lit up, making this pavilion the eyecatcher of the “Croisette” in Cannes.
